Doctor of Physical Therapy

Dr. Mallorie O’Brien is a staff PT at EPTG. She attended Colgate University and University at Buffalo studying Exercise Science as an undergraduate. She earned her DPT from University at Buffalo in 2020.

During her graduate studies, Dr. O’Brien had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings including a manual-based sports medicine clinic, outpatient orthopedics, inpatient intensive and traumatic care units, and hospital-based transitional care rehabilitation. She also had the opportunity to lead Rock Steady Boxing classes, encouraging patients with Parkinson’s to fight back. She has experience working with athletes, post and pre-operative conditions, orthopedic injuries, chronic pain and neurological conditions.

While attending the University at Buffalo she generated numerous evidence based research presentations including prevention and treatment of running related injuries, the importance of pain neuroscience education in patient care, patellofemoral pain management, and incorporating high intensity interval training in rehabilitation of patients with COPD.

Dr. O’Brien strives to generate individualized treatment plans to assist patients in reaching their goals. She wishes to restore movement and functional activities into the lives of her patients and also their confidence in themselves. Her dedication for patient rehabilitation does not stop only at physical restoration but, to also improve her patient’s lifestyle overall.
