Dr. James Ruggiero is a staff physical therapist at Exchange PT – Jersey City. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2018 with a B.S. in Exercise Science and subsequently earned his DPT from Stony Brook University in 2021.
Throughout his graduate studies, Dr. Ruggiero had We opportunity to complete mulliple clinical rotations in a variety of settings including outpatient orthopedic clinics, a skilled nursing facility, and a level 1 trauma center. He has experience working with patients who have suffered sports related orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions like TBI and stroke, chronic pain, and even COVID-19.
While completing his graduate studies, James enjoyed lending his time and services to help the community. He volunteered regularly at Rock Steady Boxing to help patients combat Parkinson’s Disease and at local health fairs to provide evidence based balance and fall screens to senior citizens residing in the community.
Dr. Ruggiero is passionate about creating individualized treatment plans for his patients to achieve all of their functional goals. His treatment style emphasizes hands-on manual techniques, patient education, therapeutic exercise, and pain management He strives to develop meaningful, one on one relationships with his patients to motivate and comfort them in their daily lives.
